15/12: Green Christmas

Half in response to a brilliant post by Tisha over at Architerra Tile and half to speak to the amount of Green Building and "Spec Homes" currently going on, particularly in the residential market, I thought I would post Trikeenan's Green Statement!
It goes like so:
Trikeenan Tileworks is dedicated to the protection of the earth and our environment. As such, our tile is not only beautiful, but is also made in a responsible manner. We recycle throughout the process, from start to finish.
With all of Trikeenan’s tile lines, clay waste is gathered and reprocessed through our pug mill, so that the excess from one tile ends up being used to make another. In addition, our highly acclaimed Glass Windows line is handcrafted using only 100% recycled glass.
Trikeenan’s employees also contribute, daily, to our environmental commitment. Paper is shredded for packing, reused as scrap or recycled, as are plastic and glass. Within our kitchen, we limit the need for paper and plastic ware by providing real cups and dishes for our employees.
We also use salvaged and recycled materials in the construction of many of our displays.
Finally, Trikeenan’s finished tile is shipped to the customer in the very same boxes in which our clay comes to us. When clay arrives, we empty and stack the boxes, then use them to send out finished orders. It may not look fancy, but we think it’s a better way to do business.
At Trikeenan, we want to do our part to take care of this planet we all call home. We’d like to think that Mother Nature would approve of the way we create our tile …and maybe even use it in her kitchen.
With current weather conditions proving beyond all doubt that global warming is, indeed, a fact, perhaps we have no choice but to make this a Green Christmas.
11/10: IN THE NEWS: NEW BLOG FOR TRIKEENAN!
Does the fact that Trikeenan is hereby introducing its sister website, TrikBlog, make you want to climb up 1 story on top of boxed clay and cut a rug? The Trikeenan Cheerleaders want you to know that the new Bob Dylan CD is pretty good but our new website kicks butt!
Officially, in the news for the month of November, in addition to the launch of TrikBlog, we are just wrapping up our Semi-Annual Seconds Sale.

Thanks to all the Trikeenan personalities that helped with the sale: Annmarie, Kerry, Rebecca, Chris, Kevin, Molly, Jason, Jonathon, Keenan, Trina, Siena, Emma, Sadie, Kristin, Robin..... (Stephen is so disappointed that he missed the fun, he has volunteered to do all the cleaning! Let's hear it for Stephen!)
Trikeenan's Modulus Collection is a finalist for the Best of the Year Awards sponsored by Interior Design Magazine. The BoY Awards! YaY!
Trikeenan underwrites the annual Monadnock Waldorf School Craft Fair. The craft fair is great; lots of local handmade crafts and artisans and music and food and community. Good stuff.
In conclusion, we are "uber" thrilled to be here, the little tile people, the little tile company, yadda yadda. Keep checking back! We'll be showing customer jobs, employees quotes and hair styles, chronicling our growing pains, and more. Your input is most welcome!
